About Us
I started off my accounting career by doing the bookkeeping for a company that specialized in Dosimetry, which is not nearly as exciting as it may sound. From there I went on to work in various industries, which included IT Services, insurance agencies, aviation, clothing, and more.
From those industries I went into the academic environment where I was an instructor teaching QuickBooks, a variety of accounting courses, and Microsoft Suite. The school established a paid accounting practice as another facet of its offerings of which I was the Director of Accounting Services.
With 13 years of bookkeeping experience behind me I decided it was time to take the skills I had learned over the years and establish my own company. This move allowed me to take on clients that truly needed my expertise and, gave me the flexibility to spend the time to really understand my client's needs/issues. Another goal was to be able to have the ability to work remotely to spend time with my husband who travels 45+ weeks a year.
However, life had other plans and within a month of starting my new company my mother became very ill and I ended up moving her to Colorado so I could oversee her care. So, even though the plan to travel with my husband and work remotely did not work out, the flexibility of having my own company allows me to give my mother's situation the attention it deserves.
